Dear friends,
Greetings from the Delhi Ophthalmological Society. We, on behalf of the Executive Committee of DOS extend a very warm welcome to all of you and invite you to our 63rd Annual Conference being held from 6th to 8th April, 2012 at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, Delhi.
Ophthalmology in India is truly cutting edge and highly advanced. Delhi with one of the Largest State Society in the world with over 6,500 members, the highest number of Ophthalmology training institutes and the largest number of Ophthalmology residents in the world, endeavours to constantly remain in the forefront of the changes sweeping our field.
The Annual Conference of our society is a 3 day celebration of Ophthalmology-live surgeries and wet labs, workshops, instruction courses and free papers showcasing original research work. It is anticipated that over 3,500 delegates and numerous top-tier national and international speakers will attend the event. In fact, such a meeting is much more than just a scientific interaction. In addition to facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge, the Conference provides an invaluable opportunity for ophthalmologists to present and listen to ideas and view the changes and developments in instrumentation and pharmaceuticals. This year the theme is "Future of Ophthalmology, Today".
It is therefore our pleasure to welcome you all to Delhi, the Capital city of India. Delhi is a bustling metropolis with all the world class facilities and a grand historical legacy and has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Delhi is a city that bridges two different worlds. The heritage monuments reminiscing a thousand years of Mughal history and spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing modern buildings showing the strides the city has taken over the 100 years it has been the Capital City of India. A brand new airport, comparable to the best in the world, Delhi Metro Rail with its fast express link from the airport to the heart of the city, international quality hotels and swank shopping malls prove that the city has a great present and future too.
So come be a part of history as we bring the tomorrow for you today!
Thanking you,
